Dr. Canada is a citizen of the Great Metis Nation and currently resides in British Columbia. She has been involved in policy work, education, and leadership for over 30 years. She is a published author and currently works as a Dean at the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology.
Dr. Canada’s other work speaks to the appointment as a Regional Commissioner and then as the Chief Executive Office for the Metis Commission for Children and Families BC. She taught courses in the department/s of social work, community education and is proficient in curriculum development and design. Overall, her career consists of various types of management, leadership and policy work.
Dr. Canada is the proud mother of Aaron and grandmother of Avery Wind and Aason Sun Canada. She draws on Metis philosophy and value system that speak to kindness, caring, and self-reliance.
